Step One: Your Story

This is the step almost everyone rushes past, and it is the one that determines whether anything after it works.

Before you write a single Note you need to get clear on the specific transformation you help people achieve, and the proof, however small, that you have either achieved it yourself or helped someone else achieve it.

Not a polished bio. Not a credential list.

A story with a real before and a real after, told specifically enough that someone reading it thinks this person understands exactly where I am and where I am trying to go.

Here is what most people do when they look at their subscriber count.

They compare it to someone else’s.

They see a publication with 50,000 subscribers and think their 100 means nothing. They tell themselves they need to build more before they can make any real money. They push monetization to the future. They keep creating content, growing slowly, and wondering why nothing is converting.
